I am honored to run for the Saratoga Union School District Board of Trustees. As a mother of four children in our elementary and middle schools, and as Saratoga Elementary PTA President from 2024-2026, I have had the privilege of working closely with families, teachers, staff, and district leadership. Through these experiences, I have seen firsthand what makes our district so outstanding. I want Saratoga to continue being a place where exceptional educators want to teach, where families feel connected to their schools, and where every child has the opportunity to thrive.
I come from a family of educators, where the value of strong schools and a love of learning were instilled in me at a young age. Before starting my family, I spent more than a decade working in education. I hold a Master’s degree in Special Education and Human Development, as well as a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Criminal Justice. I worked as a special education teacher in three different public school districts. In 2008, I was honored to be nominated by my principal for the New Teacher of the Year Award.

As a classroom teacher, I worked closely with parents, general education teachers, specialists, and school leadership to ensure that each of my students received the support they needed to learn, grow, and succeed. I also worked as an Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapist supporting children with autism, an experience that further strengthened my belief that every child deserves to be understood, supported, challenged, and given the opportunity to reach their full potential.
My years working in public education also gave me valuable insight into how decisions made at the district and School Board level ultimately reach the classroom and affect students, educators, and families. I learned that policies and priorities are not simply decisions made on paper—they have real implications for the people our schools serve. That perspective has stayed with me and has shaped the seriousness with which I approach educational leadership and public service.
My time as Saratoga Elementary PTA President strengthened that understanding from a different perspective. Leading a large and engaged school community taught me how to listen to differing viewpoints, navigate complex issues, and find common ground while remaining focused on our shared purpose: doing what is best for our students and schools. It reinforced my belief that effective leadership requires collaboration, sound judgment, mutual respect, and a willingness to listen carefully before making decisions.
I have also had the privilege of serving on the Board of Directors of Jewish Silicon Valley. That experience gave me an additional perspective on the responsibilities of board service and the importance of thoughtful governance, collaboration, stewardship, and accountability. Serving on a board requires looking beyond any one individual or issue and considering the long-term interests of the organization and the community it serves. It also requires asking thoughtful questions, listening to different perspectives, working constructively with fellow board members and organizational leadership, and making responsible decisions even when issues are complex. These are skills and experiences I would bring directly to my service as an SUSD Trustee.

Together, these experiences have shaped how I approach education today—as a parent, educator, community volunteer, nonprofit board member, and candidate for our School Board. I believe strongly in supporting the whole child—academically, socially, and emotionally—while maintaining the high academic standards that have long distinguished Saratoga schools.
Our schools are already excellent. That excellence has been built over many years through the dedication of outstanding teachers and staff, strong district leadership, engaged families, and a community that deeply values public education. My priority is not change for the sake of change, but preserving excellence while continuing to strengthen what works.
That means recruiting and retaining exceptional teachers and administrative leaders; maintaining excellence across STEM, humanities, the arts, and athletics; giving educators the tools and resources they need to succeed; and continuing to build strong, collaborative partnerships among families, teachers, administrators, and our broader community.
If elected, I will take the responsibility entrusted to me as a Trustee very seriously. I understand that the decisions made by the Board can have lasting implications for students, educators, families, and our district as a whole. I will listen carefully, ask thoughtful questions, consider different perspectives, and make decisions with a students-first mindset. I will bring the perspective of a parent, educator, community leader, and experienced nonprofit board member while working collaboratively and respectfully with our district leadership, teachers, staff, fellow Trustees, and families.I would be honored to earn your support and to continue serving the students, schools, and community I love.

Candidate for Saratoga Union School District Board of Trustees
